Paint correction 01
Why does my paint look dull if it's clean?
Your paint isn't dirty. It's scratched. Every wash, every towel, every brush at the drive-through leaves fine scratches in your clearcoat. In daylight they blur together and the car just looks a bit flat. Put a hard light on it and you see what's really there.
What is "buffing", really?
A machine polisher and a series of abrasives work the surface until it's flat again. Flat paint reflects light in one clean direction instead of scattering it in a thousand. That's why a corrected car looks wet, and why the color suddenly looks deeper.
Is it permanent, or does it wash off?
It's permanent. We're not filling the scratches or hiding them under a glaze that washes out in a month. They're gone.
How many steps does my car need?
Not every job needs four steps. One stage handles light swirling; neglected paint can take up to four. We recommend what gets you the result you're after, and if that result is showroom, we do everything we can to get it there.
How does a correction job run?
Quality over speed, always. A correction is permanent, because clearcoat doesn't grow back. This is the order every job follows:
- InspectEvery panel goes under a raking light so we can see swirls, buffer trails, etching and scratches. That tells us how many stages your paint needs, and we walk you through it before anything starts.
- WashFoam pre-soak to lift grit without dragging it, then a two-bucket contact wash. Most swirl marks were put there during washing, so this step is deliberate.
- DecontaminateIron and fallout remover for embedded brake dust, tar solvent for road grime, then clay. Paint has to be bare before a pad touches it.
- CorrectCompounding to cut the defects, then refining stages to bring back gloss. Test spot first, every time.
- Panel wipe & coatEvery panel stripped of polishing oils so nothing hides a defect or blocks the bond, then the coating laid down level and given its cure time.
- Final inspectionA last pass under inspection lighting. You see the car before you leave and we walk the panels together.
Why do you recommend a coating after a correction?
A coating seals the corrected finish under a hard layer that takes the wear from washing, weather and road grime instead of your paint. Correction is the work. The coating is what keeps it.
Ceramic coating 02
What does a ceramic coating actually do?
It's a hard, slick layer bonded onto your paint. Things that normally eat into a finish sit on top of it instead, and rain carries the dirt away with it.
What does it protect against?
Sun fading. Sunlight bleaches and dulls paint; it's why a neglected red car turns chalky pink. The coating takes that damage instead.
Bird droppings. Acidic enough to burn a permanent mark into bare paint within hours on a hot day. On a coated car they wipe off.
Tree sap, bug splatter and water spots. Far less to grip onto, so they come off in a normal wash instead of etching in.
Road salt & brake dust. Winter here is hard on paint and wheels. Neither gets a proper grip.
What will I notice day to day?
Is a coating scratch-proof?
No. A coating is not scratch-proof or stone-chip-proof, and anyone telling you otherwise is selling something. It resists light marring, not impacts. It doesn't replace washing; it makes washing easy. And it won't hide swirls that are already there, which is exactly why paint correction comes first.
What's your coating process? Why does it cost more than a detail?
A coating is only as good as the surface it bonds to. Every coating we install goes through the full reset below first. It isn't optional here.
- Strip washTakes off every wax, sealant, spray topper and dressing on the vehicle.
- Acid washDissolves mineral scale, hard-water deposits and road film, including buildup packed into wheels and lower panels.
- Iron removerDissolves iron particles and brake dust embedded in the finish. That contamination is in the paint, not on it.
- Full hand washContactless pre-soak, then a hand wash to carry off everything the chemical stage released.
- Clay barShears off whatever is still bonded. The paint has to be physically smooth before a pad touches it.
- 1-step paint enhancementFor bonding, not for looks: it levels the surface and leaves it bare and open so the coating grips clean clearcoat. Defect removal is paint correction, its own service.
- Final panel prep wipeStrips the polishing oils. Oil left on the paint is the most common reason a coating never bonds properly.
- Coating appliedPanel by panel, leveled and checked under light as it flashes, then cured in our temperature-controlled garage.
Plenty of shops wash, hit the car with iron remover and coat it the same afternoon. That version stops beading in months rather than years. We don't offer it.
How long do your coatings last?
18-month high solid SiO2, or System X Crystal+ (3 yr), Pro+ (6 yr) and Max G+ (10 yr). Longer terms use harder, thicker chemistry and more prep time, which is the difference in price.
My car is already coated. What should I book?
The Ceramic Maintenance Wash. An acid wash and iron remover strip the buildup clogging the coating so it reactivates, then a 6–9 month SiO2 spray goes on as a fresh sacrificial layer, so the wear lands there instead of on your coating.
Detailing 03
What's the difference between Level 1, 2 and 3?
Level 1, Essential Detail: a maintenance refresh for a well-kept car.
Level 2, Signature Detail: our complete deep clean, inside and out.
Level 3, Revival Reset: everything in Level 2 plus full decontamination, clay, a 1-step paint enhancement and a 9-month SiO2 spray. Inside gets carpet shampoo, dry steam, odor treatment and UV protection.
Can I book just the interior or just the exterior?
Yes. Every level can be booked as interior only, exterior only, or complete. The complete package is the better value.
Why does a minivan cost more to detail than a truck?
Detailing is priced on interior labor, and a minivan's three rows and stow-away wells are the biggest interior job there is. Coatings are priced on exterior surface area instead, which is why a full-size truck costs more there.
Do you do hot water extraction?
Our interior method is scrubbing plus dry steam. Heavily soiled seats or stains that won't lift that way need hot water extraction, which is quoted as an add-on.
Are you mobile?
No. Every job is done at our shop at 311 Elm Ave, North Wales (rear of the building), where we control the lighting, water and cure temperature.
Booking & policies 04
How does the deposit work?
The deposit is 20% of the starting price and is credited in full toward your final balance. It reserves a specific slot on a specific date.
What if I need to cancel or reschedule?
More than 48 hours before your appointment: your deposit is refunded in full or moved to a new date, your choice. Within 48 hours, or if you don't arrive, the deposit is non-refundable, since the slot was turned away from other customers. Rescheduling caused by weather, or by us, never costs you the deposit.
Is the price I see the final price?
Your technician inspects the car and makes recommendations before any work begins. You decide what to include, and the final price is confirmed from what you approve. If it isn't a price you want to go ahead with, say so and your deposit is refunded in full.
Is my booked time a pickup time?
No, it's a drop-off time. Same-day turnaround isn't guaranteed; we won't rush a car to hit a clock. Once we've seen the car we call or text to set pickup. Have a deadline? Call or text 267-221-9645 and we'll prioritize around it where we can.
What are your hours?
Monday to Saturday, scheduled 9am–6pm, with late drop-offs available. Sundays by appointment only.
Ready when you are.
Four steps, about a minute. Your time is a drop-off time.
